2011 BMW 128i /// M -sport package manual coupe, 17,064 miles, $23,200, Marietta, Georgia !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I really like these for some strange reason, I think it's the sawed-off E92 look with the N/A six.

Sweet, but is it better than a new BRZ?
They don't have the reputation of being that well built, and they are not light either (about 3 200lbs, so 400lbs more than a BRZ)

That's not bad considering my MSRP was $21k.

Even if it means having a heavier and less involving car?
Don't get me wrong, both are great propositions. The BRZ would be the more "hardcore" choice whilst the bimmer would probably be the "reasonable" choice.

I wouldn't call it less involving, this has the sport suspension.

I drive by there all the time. Didn't know they had a show room. They typically have Maserati's and BMW's out front, occasionally a Porsche.

I'm probably biased here as I own an E90, but I would take this over a BRZ any day of the week. And I like BRZ's. Shit if this was local I'd probably go look at it.

I'd say so. I've had my 135 for 6 months now, and the build quality has been stupendous, and the amount of grunt that it has over a BRZ is immeasurable.

CP. Yes, the low mileage is great, but you can get a 50-70k mile 135i for that, or even a touch less; I'd much rather have the extra 90 HP over 30k fewer miles.

Well, it is more usable than the Toyobaru.

Yep, but this is a 128i. Probably less grunt-ish, and not new..
Is it really that well built? The phase 1 1er's had the reputation for being very disappointing, although the phase 2 cars were said to be a massive improvement.

Does it really change the car that much? This is a compact car-derived coupe, vs. a ground-up sportscar.

Fair points, but a reasonably low mileage (not quite this low) 135i can be picked up for this kind of money.
I haven't had any problems so far. It's a very simple car, which helps. The only real build-quality issue has been that some material on the steering wheel has started to flake off, and it's something that I've seen on all of them. It's a little disappointing, but it's a very small niggle in my mind that I pretty easily ignore. Aside from that, fit and finish are good and my 60k mile example isn't a squeaker/groaner.

Good to know. Doesn't it feel slightly heavy? I keep being amazed by how heavy those cars are compared to their size..
Regarding the steering wheel, if you have 300$ and a bit of patience, it's probably nothing an upholsterer can't fix.

My Focus was $20k and was far less car in terms of features and whatnot. Cars ain't cheap.

bought my wife's A4 there. Decent place, not outstanding, but good clean cars, and probably $1,000,000 in the showroom alone (Ghost, Phantom, SLS, McLaren SLR, etc.)

It really doesn't, one because 320 HP is more than enough to get it moving fore and aft, and two because while the factory alignment makes the car a bit numb, dialing out the positive camber in the front really wakes the turn-in up and the the rear is more than happy to step out at will.
Haven't had a chance to take it out on track yet, though, and the ability to really push it might change my mind, but for a daily the weight is largely unnoticeable, especially in a day and age when 33-3400 lbs. is considered on the lighter side of things. The goddamn run-flats that BMW insists on running are the only thing that I have a really issue with, and I'll be replacing mine with non-run flats here shortly.

And it'll do 0-60 in 5.9 which is faster than a BRZ.
128i fuel economy is worse, but I'll take it over a BRZ all day.
